Personal Statement
I am fully dedicated to playing soccer in college. However, academics is a much higher priority to me than athletics. When I was 12, I tore my ACL and Meniscus. Prior to my injury, I was playing football, basketball, and soccer. I spent a year unable to do anything strenuous or athletic. During the recovery time, I spent 3 afternoons a week at physical therapy. No one who has had therapy after surgery will define it as fun, but the kind service of my therapist made a big impact on me. When my recovery time was complete, I started focusing solely on soccer and improved exponentially. In less than one year, I went from JV bench to starting varsity for a state level team. Currently, I play in a soccer season nearly year-round with my school and club teams. When I am not playing soccer, I enjoy volunteering in community service activities. I love helping others, and plan to pursue physical therapy in college. I think the main thing that separates me from other players is my growth potential. This is why I think I am a good prospect for your college team.
