Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember, I have dreamt of becoming a professional soccer player; however, I know that injuries can happen and my soccer career can possibly end. After graduating high school, I plan on furthering my education at the college level, and majoring in engineering. I believe that I can be much more than who I am today. Soccer has always been a part of my family, but my father and grandfather never got the opportunity to take their skills to the next level due to the fact that they didn't graduate high school. I do not have the money to attend college, but I believe that I am more than qualified for a soccer scholarship. I wake up every day with the thought of going to practice and working towards my goal. I treat my teammates with respect, and I have grown very close to all of them over the years. They know that I am a person they can count on even if it is not soccer related. I like to encourage them so that we can grow as a team. I am very honest, dedicated, and motivated. Throughout high school, I have taken advanced courses, and I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average. Not only am I an outstanding student with excellent morals and character, but I am also good with managing my time. After going to school and practice, I spend my nights working closing shifts at Sonic because money isn't something that can be easily attained in my family. I would be honored if you were to consider me for a scholarship in soccer.
