Personal Statement
I would like to play soccer at the collegiate level. I love the game and am committed to take my game to the next level. Playing both club and school soccer has allowed me to play and improve my skill set at multiple positions, left back, left mid field and left forward. I run Cross Country (FACS) and during the season we run about 30+ miles/week. I stay in very good shape which gives me an edge when playing soccer that I can run without tiring out and can play when and where my team needs me. I was the Captain of my Middle School team in 2014 (FACS) and enjoyed the leadership role and helping out the younger more inexperienced players develop. I have a strong competitive drive and a good work ethic on and off the field. I am currently playing for Mid South Futbol Club U18 team and started as a freshman and sophomore for the FACS varsity team. I am an honor roll student and I have been chosen for the third year as a Student Ambassador, to serve in a leadership role at school (FACS). In addition I am also a 2nd degree Black belt and a certified instructor trainee Tae Kwon Do. In this leadership role I work with younger students and special needs kids (Down's syndrome, Asperger's, and handicapped children). I volunteer with Special Olympics helping to coach a swim team and have worked their summer camp for the past 2 years with their athletes. I have talked to the coordinator to begin a soccer program in my area. I organized a team to walk for St. Jude in honor of my classmate that just finished his cancer treatments to support him and also raise money for the kids at St. Jude. I just received my referee license, which I feel will help me understand the game from a different perspective. I also just received my F and E rated license to coach. It was a great class and gave me a better understanding for the sport.
