Personal Statement
In December 2014, my competitive soccer team, FC Alliance 99 Black, won our group in the CASL Showcase. We did so by defeating the nationally ranked #1 team in Missouri from St. Louis. My third goal of the tournament was the winning goal against the Missouri team, clinching the win in our division.
I have been playing competitive soccer for 8+ years, helping my team win tournaments in Atlanta, Cincinnati, Memphis, Raleigh and Charlotte. Most recently, I have played with FC Alliance 99 Black, a two-time Division I, TN state finalist (2013, 2014) and winner of the NPL South Atlantic Premier League (2013). I am team co-captain and was the top scorer at 28 goals this past season.
I also have played on competitive teams in basketball and baseball.
In high school, I have been a three-sport athlete, making the baseball, basketball and football (as kicker) teams and playing varsity in the latter two. But my true passion is soccer.
I have started every game as a varsity player for my high school soccer team from freshman to present and have scored 20 goals in two seasons, establishing myself as top-scorer.
My goals now are to be a leader for my high school team, to help take the team toward a state championship and to achieve for myself some personal bests along the way. As for my competitive team, I want to prepare myself mentally and physically to better my game, better my team play and better our ranking in the state and nation.
While soccer is my passion, I also strive hard in my academic life. I have a weighted GPA of 3.83 due to honors and AP classes and am in National Honor Society. I also value community service and am a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a volunteer for Special Spaces, which renovates homes for terminally sick children and their caregivers. I also play drums for my church worship group.
My dream is to play collegiate soccer, and I recognize and am ready to take on the challenges of achieving my best as a student and an athlete.
