Personal Statement
Being a student-athlete has brought many benefits to my life not only at the athletic and educational level level but also at the personal level. Soccer is a sport that runs through my families blood and I have the fortune to play this stunning sport since the age of 5. Throughout the past years it has given me lessons that have made me into the person that I am today. Knowing that I am not perfect and like everybody else I have my weaknesses, my aspirations and desires to play at the college level have push me to work harder everyday improving not only my athletic abilities but my academic ones as well.
I believe that everyday we live we should live it like it's the last and constantly challenge ourselves into being better than who you are currently. When I first began High School I wanted to go take the easy route and focus in solely in Soccer; however, I realized that there was nothing better than challenging myself academically while playing sports, since it would build me into being a well-rounded student. For that reason I decided to take the challenge and joined the IB program, which offers the most rigorous classes not only in the nation but internationally, in the hopes of getting into the most academically demanding universities. As for the Athletic challenges I joined the most prestigious club in the Rio Grande Valley ares, Houston Dynamo South Texas Academy, home of 2016 national winners in the President's cup and will be playing for my High School as well. Setting apart the academic and athletic topics, what I believe makes the best student-athlete is his personality. I am a person that will alway try as hard as I can to excel in everything I set my mind on no matter how hard the task may be. Like Abraham Lincoln once said "The best way to predict the future is to create it" and I believe that this is exactly what im doing right now.
