Michael (Mikey) Haug '17 Recruiting Profile

   My name is Mikey Haug Jr,  I am a two time state champion coming out of Dixie High School along with being placed 2nd in the state as a club team, and I currently have been enrolled through a program known as Success Academy through Dixie State University. This program is giving me the opportunity to acquire my associates degree through the university by the time I graduate from Dixie High School in May of 2017. This has given me a head start over peers of my graduating class, allowing me to understand the work required to pass my classes while being be able to play the sport I love to play. With that being said, I will now be the first of my immediate family to acquire an Associate Degree. This has set me one more step towards my goal of playing a higher level ball through a collegiate level.

   My biggest motivation or influence on my passion to play this sport is my mother. My dad had divorced and left me and my mom behind my freshman year, which was about 4 years ago. Ever since then my dad hasn't been a big part of my life, both physically and mentally. Never really been there to support me and my passion with soccer. My mom has been there every step of the way giving me opportunities like this to play. No matter how hard the time was she would be there and make it possible for me to travel and play with my team. I just want to make something of that and show her that all the hard times have payed off and got me where I wanted to be and she was the reason I have made it.   With me being as strong as I am due to this difficult time for me and my mom, it has allowed me to show my purpose on and off the field. My biggest accomplishment for me was being accepted and recognized as part of the 1st team all-state my junior year. As a high school captain, hopefully leading my team to a third state title, I know what it means to be a leader.
