Joseph King '17 Recruiting Profile

Soccer is a huge part of my life! There is nothing I would rather be doing than playing soccer - it is something I am very passionate about. As a Senior, I am focused on doing what it takes to be recruited and move to the next level, which is to play soccer in college. I would ultimately like to sign with an American or European club. I realize there are many serious factors to get to that point.

Fortunately, I feel I am well on my way by playing on an Academy team, working with high caliber coaches, having played for a competitive club (SYA), and participating in not only my club games, but tournaments and Super-Y teams. My leadership skills have allowed me to be Captain of both my club and Super-Y teams. In spring of 2016, I was added as a full time player to the Bethesda-Olney Soccer Academy Team (BOSA). The training is incredible and I absolutely love the challenge. My previous club team, SYA Cardinals U16 Red, is highly ranked in Virginia and competes in many highly recognized tournaments such as the Jefferson Cup and ASL. We also played in a very competitive league, the Club Champions League (CCL).

I feel I have been able to rise above average players around me because of how determined and focus I am told I can be. I love to work hard, physically, and push myself to the limits. I am also motivated to have a hard work ethic in school.

I really enjoy working with my team-mates and motivating them to do their best and for all of us to work together. One of the most exciting aspects about soccer, is that it is a team sport. It is extremely beneficial to learn from my coaches and team-mates. It is important to develop friendships with my team-mates, and it is vital to have an open line of communication with them during practices and games.
