Personal Statement
Since the age of four I have been playing the one sport I love; soccer. The first league I was played in was called the BYSP (Bermuda Youth Sports Program) which encouraged youth soccer on Saturday mornings. When I reached middle school I then played Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda until I left that school my 8th grade year. When I left Saltus at the age of 14 I then joined another Club team named Southampton Rangers and played on their team for a season. Now I attend St. Johnsbury Academy in Vermont and start and play on the Varsity team. My name is Brian Fubler Jr. I am 17 years old and stand 5'7 and weigh 137lbs. Since my freshman year I have been apart of the D1 St. Johnsbury Academy soccer teams. My freshman and sophomore years I started and played on the JV soccer team. This year has been my first year that I played on the Varsity team but I started for the majority of the games. During my off seasons I am apart of the Academy's track teams both indoor and outdoor and have been the Academy's top sprinter since freshman year. For the 100m dash I ran a 11.6s and I recently set and broke the indoor school record in the 55m dash with the time of 6.8s placing me 4th in the state of Vermont for that event. I am also a state champion in the 4x400m relay with a 400m time of 56.0s This year on my Varsity team I learned how to become a versatile player. I learned to adjust from being a right midfielder at the beginning of the season, to ending the season as a left wing-back and in between there I also played a couple games as a striker. This taught me to be patient with my coach and also myself with adjusting to and learning how to perfect each position I played in. I would like to attend a college that has the study of business in it so that I can learn and master the art of entrepreneurship and then one day own my own business and work for myself. I have been looking into colleges all over the state but none have really been a major priority over the other as of now. I would like to go to a school where there is always something to do so that I'm never bored or stuck without an option for something to do. Although I am in a fairly big high school right now I would like to go to a fairly large college in a DII, DIII and NAIA level If I were to go to college and play soccer I would like to play as a freshman and hopefully excel more throughout my time in college and also play for a club team in the area. Eventually if everything runs smooth through college I would like to play for a professional league team and see how far that would take me.
