Football was introduced to me by my father as far back as I can remember. Over the years I have gained so much from the game influencing my life in the best of ways. This sport has given me friends who share the same ambitions, immense opportunities, and the possibility of going to the next level athletically. The most important thing I have gained from football is the mental strength I possess. I am able to dictate my life to achieve my goals, leading by example while my teammates follow.
As I mentioned before, I offer my mentality as one of my strongest assets for a team. Mistakes happen in a game, therefore when they do I make sure to pick myself up and my teammates so that we are able to continue fighting. After games, I reflect back at my individual performance making sure that I am always able to improve from before. The mistiming of a pass, a poorly hit shot, or a tackle which could have been made sooner; I make sure to find something to improve on for the future. As a center-midfielder, the thing I love doing the most is passing and keeping possession for my team. Distributing the ball and moving forward when possible, making sure to simply not force the game. For a better picture of the type of football I absolutely love to play, Guardiola and Wenger are two coaches with philosophies I admire. Academically I make sure to carry high grades because my father taught me that success had to come both on and off the field. Therefore, as a student-athlete I am looking for a program and school which will force me to further improve myself in all aspects of my life. That being academically, as a football player, and as a person.
