Donovan O’Reilly '20 Recruiting Profile

   Hi, My name's Donovan O'Reilly (Donny) and as a kid coming from two parents that didn't go to college or graduate high school either, I take school serious. I'll be honest I'm not the smartest kid in the classroom but I try and I won't quit. College is a big thing for me as a person in succeeding in life but also for me to take my soccer level up a notch because I don't want to stop at highschool. I feel like as a person I have a lot of character I'll be the one to boost the teams moral or an individual thats not feeling himself whether it's in the locker room or leading by example on the field. Now as a player I'm a very versatile defender I believe I can play anywhere on the back line or in a CDM role, now as a wing back I might need to learn a little more because I don't really play much there but I have experience. Being a defender I'm good fundamentally with the ball and, I personally believe I have great awareness and vision for a defender, just being able to pick out passes from the back line. I'm good with positioning and interceptions with my abnormally long legs, but also being pretty fast for a centre back and with the mixture of my speed and position I'll rarely get burnt on speed and if I do I will not quit till I get that ball or it's out of bounds. I've had quite a bit of experience at being a starting defender for my varsity high school soccer team since my freshman year (sophmore year was top in the region) and at the moment I'm going into my junior season with high hopes for the season, we've actually made the playoffs in every year I've played for the varsity team just disappointingly going out in the first round every time . Having to miss a few games due to an ankle injury but I've recovered quickly and playing soon as of the time I'm typing this.
