Personal Statement
I have aspired to play college soccer since I first started playing soccer. I believe I have what it takes to play soccer at the highest level because of my work ethic, strong will, and grit. My willingness to become the best sets me apart from other recruits. In addition, my strong grades and dedication to my academics helps me to surpass other recruits. I first got into soccer when I was was only six years old. I first played Upward soccer, and at the age of nine I began my first season of travel soccer. I started playing soccer religiously at U11 with my coach Matt Lacey. Coach Lacey was one of the main reasons I got serious about soccer and began to love the game. As an outside back, I believe my biggest strength is my willingness to get forward and attack. I look up to and aspire to play like Barcelona left back Jordi Alba. My playing style is similar to Jordi Alba as he is a left footed outside back who is comfortable on the ball and always eager to get involved in the attack. Although I play the majority of my games as a left back, I would consider myself to be extremely versatile as I am comfortable with either foot. This allows me to play on either side of the field. Whether it is a shot, cross, pass, or dribble, I feel can use whichever foot necessary. All in all, I would describe myself as a leader on and off the field who is eager to take my game to the next level.
