Personal Statement
I've been playing soccer for most of my life. It's always been a constant for me no matter what. When I first started to play, I was in the midfield, learning the different parts of the game. As time went on, I decided to give goalkeeping a try in order to get more game time. Then after that first save, I realized that it was the position I always wanted to play. That was when I really knew I wanted to play soccer for as long as possible. Going to St. Christopher's School, I have always been taught to be sportsmanlike, no matter the outcome of the game. I think my parents and St. Chris have really influenced and molded me into the honest, fair, hard worker that I am. Playing soccer and especially goalie has really taught me to learn from my mistakes and let them go.
Being on the shorter side for a goalkeeper, I've had to overcome people passing me up for the taller guy, even if they weren't as good as me. Due to this, I've worked hard on putting myself in the right position and making the correct decision, which I believe, are two of my greatest strengths. I move very quickly around the goal, being there to make a reaction save or to make an extension dive. When it comes to distributing the ball, I'm very accurate, making it to my teammates and being able to create counter-attacks or fast breaks from punts. I would like to continue to receive a good education that can prepare me for the world after school. Soccer is important, but school will always come first.
