Personal Statement
As a player for eight years and counting, I haven't always taken soccer as seriously as I do now. It has become a necessity in my weekly, if not daily routine. I stress about working to get better each day, whether that means preparing physically, technically, or mentally, I'm always striving to improve. It has been a major part of my life for a while now, taking priority over things such as friends, social activities, and other extra-curricular activities, but school always comes first.
Another area I am proud of is my academic achievements. I am currently part of the Running Start program at a local college, planning to graduate from my high school with my AA degree. I've been a captain of both high school and club teams, and dealt with many players both good and bad. I understand how to use my skills alongside my words to motivate my teammates to push themselves as I try and push myself for the betterment of the team. I have had previous coaches put me in specifically to try and inspire the other players to keep pushing and try harder.
I know I will play collegiate level soccer because I work for it, and am committed to doing so.
