Personal Statement
My name is Maddox Rasmussen, I am a senior at Mount Rainier High School. I am 18 years old, and currently on track to graduate class of 2022. I am playing for one of Eagleclaw FC's top teams, Valencia Development Program M04/05 team. We won the 2021 WA Cup and were the runner-ups at the 2021 XX National Cup NW regionals.
Eagleclaw Football Club is the top youth soccer club in the Greater Puget Sound region for real player development. Designed to be a comprehensive and holistic player development program, Eagleclaw provides an educational and competitive pathway for players beginning from the grass roots to the highest levels of competition. From their Primary Academy teams to the Advanced Academy teams and the team I'm in, the flagship Valencia Discovery Program team.
My team's style of play is focused on playing out of the back and keeping possession. Some of my specialties are using my speed and timing to get in behind the defense to make through runs in behind the defense. I use my strength and height when playing as the target man and skill at coming short to receive the ball and set up play for supporting players.
I am a leader on and off the field, I support my teammates and help them play their best.
I've been active and loved playing sports ever since the day I could remember. Throughout my childhood I played basketball, baseball, flag football, swim, and karate. I was in 6th grade when I fell in love with soccer. After years of pushing myself and fighting to play the sport I love at my highest potential I moved from a local rec team to Eagleclaw FC where I was offered a starting position on the Valencia Development Program Team. For the past five years I've been playing with them. I challenge myself everyday to improve my game, my skills and keep my eye on my goal of playing for a competitive college team.
I believe that my drive and determination to play will guide me to take on any challenge and conquer them.
