Personal Statement
I am a humble athlete and student. When it comes to wanting to be a better player, I always put my team into consideration. As a leader, I see potential in all my teammates and make it a goal to encourage them to step up to make a difference for themselves and the team.
From a young age, my goal has been to continue growing in soccer. At this time, playing soccer for a university/college is my goal. Every day gives me an opportunity to get closer to my goal and I never take it for granted. I recognize that practices are just as important as games. I make sure to practice as I want to perform. When playing, I like having control of the game. I'll always be calm and confident in what I'm going to do seconds before reciving the ball. In 2016 I had surgery for an ACL repair. Since being back from injury, I learned a lot about myself and the game, and it pushed me to work harder than ever for my goal.
As a first generation student, academics are a priority to me. Bad grades mean no college... easy as that. I care about academics as much as I care about playing. Staying on top of my grades teaches me discipline and perseverance that I use on the soccer field. I try to incorporate important lessons and values into all aspects of my life. That's why I think I'm a good candidate to any team, I give it 100 percent in my community, school, and on the field. I'm always going to keep working and striving to be better than yesterday.
