All my life I've been forced to embrace the position of the underdog. It's always been difficult for me to believe that I am a needed factor on the team, but I do know what it takes to compete for a dream many student-athletes aspire for. Without a doubt, I have worked my body and mind extremely for academic and athletic success. However, i have met more failures than achievements. I do acknowledge my successes, however I appreciate my failures so much more because they have shaped me into the student athlete I am today.
I love soccer with all my life, and yet nothing has ever been more difficult for me to understand than soccer. I am a committed student athlete not because I solely want to win, but because I owe so many people in my life my success because of their sacrifices and time invested in me. I am rich at heart and passion, and now appreciate my position as the underdog. Being more hardworking than talented has undoubtedly shaped my character as a person and as a student. I am forever grateful to my family and God who have given me the patience and opportunities to continue to grow as a student-athlete, and more importantly, a person.
