As the eldest of four children, I had to grow up more quickly than many of my peers especially after the birth of my youngest sibling who lives with a rare genetic condition. Knowing that her muscles operate differently and she has to work incredibly hard to accomplish every day tasks, has led me to strive harder for the things I am passionate about and to always give my all.
Soccer has been my passion - and my escape - since I first hit the pitch at age four. I wasn't always the fastest nor most skilled player on the field, but my work ethic and determination always help me capitalize and enhance my game and abilities. From a young age, I have 'seen the field,' tried to motivate and inspire my teammates, and to give my best on and off the field. As motivated as I am, I still like to have fun, smile, demonstrate good sportsmanship, and enjoy playing with my team.
I absolutely want to continue my soccer career in college and to experience playing abroad at some point. I will choose a university where I can be a difference maker and achieve a quality academic experience that will help me achieve future success. As a high school junior, I'm beginning to evaluate and visit different types and sizes of college campuses to determine what institutions will fit my academic, athletic, personal and social needs. Business and degree opportunities in the science fields, particulary those that may lead to graduate work in dental/orthodonic fields or physical therapy, are of interest to me.
