Personal Statement
My immediate goals are to participate at the college level in swimming and work towards a degree in Engineering. I have had multiple successes swimming the 100M butterfly, which is my favorite stroke, as well as the 200M free, 200M relay and the 200M medley. I have been a Varsity team member since my freshman year. Each year I helped lead our team to league championships. The 2014 swim season I was awarded an honorable mention for the Boys Varsity All Area Swim Team. I was team captain my junior year as well. My passion for swim is enormous. I practice daily to improve my skills and endurance.
Not only do I value the sport of swimming I also know that my academics are tremendously important to my success in life. I carry a 3.77 GPA on a 4.00 scale. I am enrolled in both AP and Honors classes this year and previous years. I strive to excel in my studies because I know how valuable my education will be for my future.
I am leader out of the pool as well, I am very active in my school and its activities. I have been a member of ASB since my freshman year. Holding various offices of representative, activities leader and secretary. I belong to our drama performance club at school and have performed in improv shows and plays for our local community. I also enjoy my time playing chess on our schools chess club. I have participated in the 4H program in my county for the past 10 years successfully raising and showing market hogs. I also mentor the younger members of our club in their feeding practices and showing of hogs.
I know I can be a valuable asset from not just an athletic perspective, with persistent drive and determination, but a leader in my collegiate efforts in an academic setting. I have a personal drive to excel in all areas, and I am an effective leader when the situation is placed before me.
