Jared Jungkeit '16 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Jared Jungkeit. I am in my senior year at Laguna Creek High School in Elk Grove, CA. I began swimming in 2009 in a community recreational swim league and quickly discovered a love for both the sport of swimming and the competition of the meets.
    As I developed technique and style, my ability and love for the sport has grown. I am proud to have broken team, league, and conference records in both individual and relay events. With a strong sense of dedication, I have continued to improve my personal times. Swimming on the Laguna Creek High School team has continued to improve my potential and introduced me to another level of competition and sportsmanship. Shaking the hand of a competitor in the lane next to me at the end of a race gives me a sense of accomplishment and pride in both my ability as an athlete and the sport of swimming.
    With the support of my family, coaches, and an inner desire to excel, swim has become the focus of my future dreams and aspirations, second only to my academic goals. I would love the opportunity to bring my swimming to a collegiate level. I feel that swimming is as much a team sport as any other, and I feel that my "team first" mentality would be valuable to any college program. 
     I believe my desire to succeed as an athlete and as a student will continue to develop through my final years of high school and college, and serve as my foundation in my career as an adult.
