Personal Statement
I was four years old when I first learned how to swim at YMCA. My parents say that swimming came naturally to me. I fell in love with the water and the sport. My parents encouraged my love of swimming and put me in swimming lessons right away. In addition, I have been fortunate enough to have a house with a pool which lets me swim even when I am at home. Consistent training, dedication, motivation and a healthy body are the most important elements to a success for an athlete. Since we were little, my mother taught me and my brother how to eat healthy and organically. The state of my body is very important to me since I want to be in top condition when I compete.
I love learning new positions and competing. A healthy competition pushes me to my limits and lets me explore what I am really capable of achieving. It is an amazing feeling when I beat my own time and improve. Not only am I competitive and dedicated in swimming but also in school. I love learning new materials and subjects and I am not happy unless I have all “A-s”. When I went on college tours with my big brother last year, I knew that college was going to be a big part of my future as well.
I live and breathe swimming and I would not have it any other way. When people ask me what I want to do in the future, I tell them that I am not sure, but I know for sure that I want to be swimming.
