Personal Statement

As a young kid. my favorite thing to do was to play sports. No matter what sport it was I put my heart out into the game until the game was finished. When I was a kindergartener, my parents put me through my first swim practice. At first I didn’t like it and wanted to quit, but my parents are determined that I stick to the sport. Now, I am thankful to my parents for decision of not letting me quit, leading to the swimmer I am today.

As an athlete, I am hard working and determined. Once I have a goal set in mind, I will work endlessly to achieve it. When I was in middle school, I was the captain of the basketball team for two years. Playing basketball, I learned teamwork, cooperation, and leadership. Even when I stopped playing basketball, my leadership showed in the pool. I encourage people during practice when their about to give up and praise them for their effort after meets. Personally, as a swimmer, I learned self-motivation. Swimming for me, is honestly a difficult sport, however I always think about the results after and frequently see myself accomplished in my mind. These thoughts helps me push through the pain during practices and eventually reach my goal.

As a student, I have a 3.5 gpa. Honestly, I didn’t really care or know how important my grades are until the beginning of my sophomore year. Since the beginning of the sophomore I decided to focus more on school. My efforts showed in my grade. At the end of my freshman year, I had a 3.3 gpa. Since then, I worked hard and tried to improve my grade. This showed in my report card at the end of my first semester of my sophomore year (3.5 gpa). As I move onto my junior year next year, I am planning to challenge myself by adding two ap classes to my schedule while maintaining at least a 3.7 gpa. If I put as much time and effort in my school work as much I do during swim practices, I know my grades can rise dramatically.

I want to use my athletic and academic abilities to find a college I’m interested in and to help people who are in need.. I have the leadership in and out of the pool. Usually I have to get out of my comfort zone to find that leadership part of me, but I am willing to do it because it makes me happy to see other people smile.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
