Personal Statement
I have been involved in sports for as long as I can remember. I come from a very athletic family. My mother ran track and was a competitive swimmer. My father played water polo and also was a competitive swimmer. My brother is a competitive swimmer who will be competing at the Trials in Omaha. I played football, basketball, and baseball; and when I was 12, I decided to concentrate just on swimming. I'm self motivated in and out of the pool. I have a strong work ethic and highly competitive by nature, just ask my parents; they love telling the story about when I was younger and would lose a swim race and cry. I still don't like to lose, I just don't cry now...much. I'm in the top 15% tile academically, while taking advanced placement classes. I've competed at North Coast Sections high school championship, making it to the finals in both my freshman and sophomore years, and plan to make it to finals this year as well as next year when I'm a senior. I believe I will be an asset to the team and the school because of my work ethic, drive, and determination. I'm eager to learn in the classroom, extremely motivated in the pool, and looking forward to being coached towards my potential.
