Thank you for taking your time to consider my position. My name is Higinio Alberto Sandoval and I am a 17 year old who developed much ambition through few resources living in South Central California. I developed a relationship with the pool at the age of 6 and have joined two major clubs to enhance my performance. Those of which have been Titans Swim Club and South Gate Aquatics Club. Throughout the years, I've dedicated much of my time and energy practicing in the pool and enrolling myself to the YMCA to boost my body strength using the equipment available along with relying on self-taught workouts. I've had one dream since the age of 6 which is to become part of the USA Olympic swimming team. My desire to be recognized as one of the top athletes has led to my interest in becoming a member of your team. With much experience and determination, I look forward to exceeding further limits hidden within myself.

As a child, I realized who I wanted to become and what I was capable of. Morning practices led to pain which made way to discover my talent. I trained twice a day in and out the pool working on my endurance and strength to gain flexibility and speed. With little assistance from a coach, I had to establish a high carbohydrate diet based off my own research that would enable me to acquire the right amount of energy. The large calorie intake from the meals I consumed throughout the day benefited my time in the pool and complimented my physique. I prospered in my events being the 50 free, 100 free, and the 200 IM. I believe the greatest qualities I obtain as an athlete are the commitment and pressure I undergo on a daily basis ready to confront any obstacle the pool has to offer.

Attending a University will allow me to test my knowledge and challenge my role as an athlete. It will make a gateway and set a successful path for me to pursue with an endless amount of effort. I look forward to building a swimming career, participate in world championships, and become part of Olympic events. Apart from this, I plan on taking action in the field of Sports medicine and business. Consistency and confidence have always been my main sources to strive for success.
