I am relatively new to swimming, starting competitive swimming my freshmen year at Maranatha High School, however the drive and passion for this sport is very strong mainly due to the encouragement from my head coach Simon Burnett. He saw something in me and helped me develop in the pool. I currently swim for The Rose Bowl Swim Team, in Pasadena while it is off season for my high school. My goals in swim are to keep dropping time and to be able to swim in college, as I enjoy the competition but I truly love the comradery of being part of an athletic team.
Currently I have a 3.06 GPA and I gravitate towards the sciences and math classes at my school. When I was in 2nd grade I was diagnosed with ADHD. School has been a struggle but I do feel that within the last two years I have developed as a learner and have figured out how I learn best, therefore my grades have improved. My goals are to attend a 4-year university that could provide me with an academically enriching and supportive program.
Besides my time in the pool, I am active member in Maranatha’s Ambassadors Club, part of two Christian small groups at my high school and local church. I am very involved in community service which gives me the opportunity to serve and help those who are in need. I have gone on a week long mission trip to New Orleans, helped served dinners at Pasadena Union Station, and The Door of Hope.
