Personal Statement

Hello,

As you now must know my name is Tommy and some things that you can't find in my profile I would like to share with you now so that you can learn more about me. On top of my swimming and academics, I am a hard working and driven individual. My work ethic shows how hard and dedicated I am willing to go in order to achieve the most I can. With the help of my teachers and coaches, I am getting the opportunity to learn more through them to be able to strengthen my abilities both in and out of the pool. I would love the chance to work with another coach and be in another environment once I enter college so that I can expand my knowledge in the classroom and in the pool.

For five years now, I have been training year round with my club team now training up to 7 practices a week in order to become a better swimmer. Additionally, I have been apart of my high school team and have been given the chance to break 3 school records and move onto the State Opens at Yale University. I find that much of my motivation comes from my teammates and older athletes that are able to train with me. In the pool, you can find me swimming more than 7,000 yards a day, with the compelling drive to get better. As I try to excel in the pool, I also try to aim at excelling in the classroom. In school, I try to challenge myself by taking advanced classes. I respect other individuals at school and at the pool, especially my teachers and coaches. I believe that they have been great role models for me as a person and as a swimmer, which has driven me to become the same. I believe that I have a great potential to learn and develop new skills that will help me in the future. Some of my future goals is to maintain my good grades and improve my swimming skills. One of my top priorities in the near future is to get accepted into a great college that can help enhance my potential to learn overall.
