Personal Statement

I am a highly dedicated and driven student athlete who loves the sport of swimming.  I believe reputation is established by performance and discipline.  I am a focused competitor, mentor, and mentee, who has enjoyed personal and team excellence at many levels.  I am a honors student and a servant leader who thrives on challenge and always maintains a learning orientation.  I build relationships that are lasting and I utilize the sport of swimming to help solidify key life skills that will guide success in my life and in the life of others.

I seek a challenging and exciting opportunity to swim on a collegiate team that shares my values of honesty, integrity, and performing with excellence both in and out of the pool.  I want to surround myself with coaches and teammates that place the value of education as the top priority and demand excellence in studies while delivering best performances as a highly competitive college swim team.  I am continually looking to mature on a personal and organizational level as a student, recognized athlete, teammate, leader, and mentor.  I am unwavering in my studies and display the same dedication in my swimming ethic.  I want to surround myself with others who have these core values.

As I consider opportunities as a student athlete, I bring a focused outlook on the future with a great desire in making a lasting impact in the present and for those that follow.  I believe that success comes from cultivating relationships, working towards challenging and fulfilling goals, and guiding actions through modeling personal excellence, integrity, and accountability.

Academically, I utilize the same guiding principles in all of my studies.  I have a great thirst for learning and maintain a learning orientation beyond the classroom and into the community and people.  I am never afraid to ask for help and I give my very best to deliver the best.  My aspirations in life are to make a lasting and positive impact to others, and help those around me embrace their potential in whatever field of study or endeavors that make them happy.

The sport of swimming has been a huge part of my life.  Through swimming, I have become a disciplined, focused, determined, and high caliber performer both in the classroom, pool, and in my community and family.   I am excited about my near term future and look forward to finding the right college and environment that will allow me to reach my goals and continually motivate me to achieve my aspirations throughout my life.

I developed into the clubs strongest breastroke swimmer, and hold the 11-12 yro records in 50, 100, and 200 breastroke. During my 2012 season I was recognized by USA Swimming as a Top 10 National Time record holder. In keeping with our belief that there is ‘life after swimming’, the club strongly believes that the life skills developed in their program such as time management, self discipline and sportsmanship will provide valuable benefits to each participant long after participation ends.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
