Personal Statement

UPDATE: After a year at RPI, I am transferring to another insitution more suited for a focus on pre-law studies.

My goal is to attend a college that provides a vigorous education and enables me to have an enriched college experience through collegiate level swimming. Education has always been my priority, however I love athletic competition, making myself stronger and pushing myself to the limit.

Factors that make me a good candidate include dedication to my team, willingness to follow changes that coaches direct, and a reputation for being the hardest worker and versatility...I'm the guy that the coach turns to when he needs someone to step up for an event that isn't one of my favorites. Also - people like to train with me because I maintain a sense of humor...even in killer sets and drylands that has others complaining.

The things that make me different from the other athletes with whom I swim: (1) education matters most (2) I have already set life goals (3) I swim because of the character it builds and not because of the recognition.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
