Personal Statement
I'm a team player and will be a great asset to any team. I am a good friend and encourager to all of my team members. Also, I’m really competitive with myself as an individual swimmer. My dad has taught me three very important guidelines for me to live up to; reject passivity; accept responsibility; lead courageously. By living by these guidelines I have become the man I am today. That man is a leader who will stand up for what is right and just. These are only three of the many principles that I have learned from my dad. My life-goal in swimming is to continue to improve each time I hit the water. I want to be great enough to swim Division 1. Swimming is a vehicle that will help me achieve my academic goal of graduating from a school that will prepare me for the rest of my life. Swimming has taught me how to persevere, set goals and work hard to achieve. I am not sure exactly what I want to major in, but I am strong in math and sciences. That makes me lean toward an engineering degree of some kind. I believe that I can be an asset to any team. I am a hard worker and I love life! I love to laugh and also be serious when it is time to compete. This gives me balance in my life as a swimmer and a maturing young man.
