Thomas "Tab" Kenney '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thomas "Tab" Kenney, and I have been involved in this sport for almost twelve years. My daily life revolves around the pool. I have been with my club team, Viper Aquatics, since third grade. Since then, I have been continually practicing in a 25-yard pool and pushing myself to make myself the best swimmer I can be. I progressed in the sport for years, but "plateaued" from my sophomore year through the majority of my junior year. However, at the end of my junior season I went on to go lifetime-best times in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Next school year, I have my eyes set on going to Summer Junior Nationals.
Outside of the pool, I am involved in many extracurricular activities. I am a member of Best Buddies, Chick-Fil-A Leadership Academy, Student Government, Class Officers, and Young Life. Regarding faith, I am a Christian and a member at both Grace Community Church and Saint Christopher's Episcopal Church. 
Academically, I maintain a weighted 3.4 GPA. I am great student and intellectual person, but frankly I did not know how important my GPA was as an underclassman. I am currently taking two AP classes (Psychology and Environmental Science) and will be taking four next year. My ACT is 29 and my SAT is 1830 (1280), but I am working for a +31 on the ACT and +2000 on the SAT.
Bottom line, I have big goals and am prepared to take big steps.
