Roe Denny '24 Recruiting Profile

I've been swimming competitively since the age of 8 years old and immediately fell in love with the sport! Two things that I've always enjoyed are my camaraderie with teammates and the ability to constantly compete against my own times. My quiet determination and drive, along with naturally being a very disciplined person, have allowed me to excel in the pool and in the classroom. I also strive to be the hardest worker in the pool and demonstrate excellence for the teams that I'm part of. By 7th grade, I knew that I wanted to compete at the next level, and it's crazy to think that now we are here. My parents relocated to the Des Moines, IA area (Ankeny, IA) in the middle of my Freshman year. Prior to that, I grew up and competed in Central Illinois. This move has been exciting for our family and great for my swimming development being involved with one of the best high school swim teams in the state and part of a premiere USA club team as well. 

Outside of swimming, I love hanging out with my friends and spending time with my family. I have an older brother that competes in collegiate track and field as well as an older sister going to grad school. We are very close as siblings and do as much as possible together when we can. I've always enjoyed movies, especially horror films. 

I'm looking forward to finding a college home that provides a successful program and a great accounting department. I want to be able to personally contribute to the team culture and help the team win.
