Personal Statement
I like to consider myself a unique individual, but if you really want to find out about me, it would be best to ask some of those around me….
“Dad”- I am proud to have Isaac as a son. He does well in school, is very respectful, and is excelling in whatever he sets his mind to achieve. He seems to thrive with competition. I know he will do well when he gets to college.
“Mom” - It does my heart good when Isaac uses his manners. When he uses “Yes” instead of “Yeah”, and when he says “Please,” “Thank you,” and “Excuse me” I feel like he has listened. I know he thinks that I still see him as my baby, which is true, but I see how much he’s grown and am so proud of him. Right now, he says he wants to study engineering. Although math and science were not my best subjects, I believe Isaac will be able to be successful as an engineer, or in any field he decides to pursue.
“Oldest Sister” - Isaac has gotten too big. I used to beat him up, but then he got too strong for me to do that. I used to be able to beat him in swimming, but now he is just too fast. I just hope he remembers that I am still older than him and still ask my advice.
“Middle Sister” – Rock climbing is about the only thing that I can still compete with Isaac. He will say that he can climb better than I do, but I think we are about even. He better remember his place, or else I’ll have to prove I can still hit beat him up.
“Teachers” – Isaac has great potential. He can sometimes get distracted; however, he tries his best. He doesn’t want to be average. He wants to excel. Anytime he doesn’t do well, he comes to office hours, asks how to do better, and works HARD to make better grades next time around. He is VERY sociable, which can be good and bad; good in that he quickly makes friends, bad in that it feeds getting distracted. When Isaac is focused, his work is excellent.
“Friends” – Isaac is a goofball. He’s loud, funny, and always tries to have fun. If he has sweet tea and Sun Chips, it’s like he hit the lottery. He likes to laugh and is quick to try and get others laughing. Sometimes, we think he should be a comedian.
“Coach” – Isaac is a strong competitor and has great potential. He is a good team mate who is the loudest voice in cheering his teammates at competition. He has a good work ethic, and has a good support system to help keep him focused. I think he will go far in the future.
“Team mates” – Isaac is LOUD. You can always hear him cheer “OH YEAH!” when you are racing – just like the Kool Aid guy is going to break into the pool area. He knows how to challenge people, to get them to try better, but is also encouraging when it comes down to it. Did we say that he is LOUD?
“Dogs” – He plays ball with us and gives us food and water. He even scratches our bellies. He is a nice young male.
I hope that gives you a pretty good idea of who Isaac Etherton is.
