I am a very hard worker when I set my mind to a goal, and push myself beyond what most others push on themselves. I am a very well rounded kid, where I am trying to set myself up for a successful life by taking many different areas of class in school. I have taken a few college level courses through a dual state program, doing very well in them. Also, taking an AP class online, I am learning very necessary traits on time management, and work ethic skills. I started swimming last year as a sophomore, mostly as a sport to condition my knees and back to strengthen them. This is where I then fell in love with the sport. The overall feel for the sport including the atmosphere and competitiveness. I began swimming for the first time ever, doing very well my first few meets, where I was then pulled up to varsity level events. Intimidated, I pushed my self harder improving my times. This year, my second year swimming, I started off where I left off last season but pushing myself decreased my times little by little, including large 4 second drops between meets in the 100 breast. I believe with hard training, and more people to help push me, that I can improve my times largely, and be a great fit for your teams. I think that I am different from most other recruits because of my ability to adapt to situations, and the fact I have only been swimming for 2 years, and having, okay times, I have a lot of room to grow.
I am a very active student outside of school also including many extracurricular activities and jobs. I am involved in my schools environmental club, where we have attended conferences at the Boston aquarium, learning more things about the environment. Also I am apart of Interact club, where we have gone to New York to go to conferences and visit the twin towers memorials. In addition, I joined Model United Nations, where we recently just went to a conference at Boston College, where I represented the United States in an Interpol committee. I have worked at a local farm with my friend, where his family owns it. I also recently received a job at a catering company to learn more people skills and interactions. I am an overall balanced student, also doing community service hours for my old elementary school.
For my career, I have always been leaning towards becoming an engineer, and started taking classes geared towards that in my freshman year. Not up until recently I have thought about jobs in political fields, stemming from the MUN club and conference I have taken part in.
