Andre Sosa '18 Recruiting Profile

When I was eight years old, I was first introduced to swimming. Going into the first practice, I had no prior knowledge of how to perform the strokes. I struggled, but my coaches helped me and taught me the four strokes. Since that summer, swimming has been my favorite sport. I have attended camps, clinics, and I also am on a club swim team called the Birmingham Blue Dolphins. All the hours in the pool made me stronger and faster in the water.

Every year, I set goals for myself and I have been able to achieve them. My high school coach has been very supportive and always encourages me to keep going to achieve my personal best. Now, I am looking for a college that is strong in both academics and athletics.  My older brother plays lacrosse in college and I have seen what a positive experience it is to be a member of a team and the camaraderie it provides. I would like to be on a college swim team so I can challenge myself physically and have a community of peers like myself.  I look forward to finding my ideal school!
