I started swimming competitively for the first time my freshman year of high school when I was recruited by my gym teacher to join the team. I had no experience and started late. But I made varsity my freshman year and continued to improve. I started mentoring other swimmers who were new and last year I mentored the swimmer who received the award for most improved.
I am a sprinter at heart, I swim the 50 and 100 free. I went to states last year, which was amazing. I love to swim and I also lift weights and run. This summer I ran the Warrior Dash for St Jude's Children's Hospital.
Swimming has helped me focus on school too as I get ambitious for college. I want to swim for a college team and have that great experience. I am an incredibly hard worker with great focus and this year I have big goals. I plan to take 2 seconds off my best 50 and 100 free times. For college I want to major in science and since I love chemistry, biology and physics I haven't decided yet where to put that emphasis.
When I have a little time, I listen to music, play airsoft and xbox. I like robotics and building and inventing things without directions and climbing any tree or building I can.
