My dream has always been to compete in sports in college, especially swimming. I would like to pursue this dream by attending not just any college, but one that can challenge me academically, athletically, and so where my talents can shine. I have been in our swim club since I was 6 years old all the way through my freshman year of high school. So what makes me a good candidate for a team? I have passion for swimming and excel. I practice, and stay in shape by doing workouts whether it be in the pool or not. Another nice thing about the sports facilities at our school is that I have a choice to swim year round and take advantage of it. I swim all throughout the summer, train in the fall, swim with the team in the winter, and then do some more training in the spring as well.
What makes swimming such a great and intense sport is that there is so much competition around you and teamwork plays a huge role. You may think that swimming is more of an individual sport but it really isn't. You have to work together to accomplish your goals whether it be winning a regular meet to getting first place as a team in the entire state.
Most of all, I want to thank my family, coach, and team members, for getting me this far in my swimming career and hope that my dream for being able to swim for a team in college will come true.
