For as long as I can remember, I have loved the water and being in it. I started to swim competitively at the age of 11 years old and have become more and more attached to the sport. Swimming has helped me overcome anxiety, built my confidence, and taught me time management skills with its rigorous schedule. Currently, I am at am practice 2 times a week (1 1/2 hours), pm practice 6 times a week (2 1/2 hours) and our practice group also does non-weight dry land 2-3 times a week. Not only do I love being in the water, I love nature and the outdoors. My goal is to swim competitively at a school that also has the programs of study I am interested in, Wildlife Biology/Zoology or Natural Resource/Wildlife and Wildlands Management, or possibly Environmental Science/Studies.
The 2015/2016 short course season was a little disappointing, due to me coming down with mono mid-January which set me back for my tapered meets at the end of the season., though I was able to swim a full meet at sectionals and improve my 400 free time a little. This 2016 long course season ended pretty well, I got stronger as the season progressed and finished at NCSA Jr. Nationals with some best times in my 200/400 meter IMs and in my 100 meter fly.
I have chosen to not swim for high school, as I really love mid/long distance races like the 400 IM, 200 fly, and all the distance freestyle events which are not offered in high school swimming.
I feel that my very strong work ethics, dedication, and desire to perform well both academically and in the pool would make me a great candidate for a college swim team. Please feel free to watch my progress on the USA Swimming website and meets on meet mobile.
Thank you for your time!
