Personal Statement

Being an athlete and teammate in both soccer and swimming since I was 8 has been a great blessing in my life. I have learned to challenge myself with hard work and learn many life lessons along this journey.  Sports has helped me grow in character as a young man learning to accept struggles that are out of my control and become a better person through the process.  I have some very talented teammates that are my close friends.  Some of my most memorable moments is sharing in my teammates  joys of reaching their dreams.  I want to swim in College to be apart of a team that is a family, that first strives to grow in character,  support eachother to persevere and help push eachother to be the best version of ourselves in the pool and on campus.  I really enjoy training hard and contining to strive to push my body harder and push past the pain and exhaustion.  One of my dreams since I was young was to be a state champion in an event.  In 2016 for long course state that dream can true. My club team didnt have a 4th athlete for the relays at State.  Our coach found a swimmer that was at a lower level that was willing to join us for some relays.  Our coach accidentally ranked our relay as 1st.  We all decided we were going to achieve it despite the odds.  We all swam with intense passion and we won state in the 200 medley relay and I swam a 25.16 for the 50 free.  Such an incredible moment and dream for our team.  I am excited to share in many more of those types of experiences in College.

I appreciate the coaches I have had all these years and am grateful for the impact they have made on my life.  I want to be someone that is constantly challenging myself to grow in every area of my life and do it with an attitude of joy.  Life is a gift and each day is a chance to grow and make a difference.   I truly love sports and am excited to see how much I can improve over the next 3 years.

I have 2 brothers with Autism that come to my swim meets when they are able too.  They have taught me so much about life and finding joy in the simple things.  I have learned through all the challenges of my family life how to sacrifice and persevere and believe in the impossible.  My brothers continue to help me grow in love, patience, and give me perspective on life.  I am so grateful for them and my family.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
