Personal Statement
Swimming has been a part of my life for nearly eight years. I have been fortunate to experience some amazing moments - making the podium at Zones, "racing" Cody Miller at a Pro-Am at 15 years old, qualifying for Winter Junior Nationals at 16, and most importantly winning the Missouri State High School championship meet as a team this past season and setting the state record in the 200 medley relay two years in a row!
However, none of these things would have happened were it not for the coaches and teammates with whom I have had the pleasure of swimming. Some say swimming is an individual sport, but I do not believe that for a moment. I owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to my club coaches and high school coach. They have inspired me to reach levels I never thought possible, and more important, they have instilled in me a sense of responsibility, work ethic, and integrity. I will never forget their impact!
I want to be a part of something special at the collegiate level, and I will work hard every single day to make the team proud! I have faced adversity, setback and championship pressure, and I believe each has made me the athlete and person I am today. Winning a conference championship and celebrating the success of the team would be a dream come true, and I look forward to hearing from you!
