David Miller '18 Recruiting Profile

Winning the Nevada State High School Championships my Freshman year was an unbelievable experience being on the winning 400 free relay.  My sophomore year state championship was even more special because of the obstacles that I had to overcome.  The start of Sophomore year began with an emergency appendicitis and several post-surgical complications taking me out of the pool for over a month.   Having to work to get into full strength was no easy task.  But, I was able to achieve best times placing third in 200 free and 100 fly and winning both relays in the State Championships.  That experience helped me solidify my passion for swimming and desire to compete at the college level.

I have been fortunate to be part of a fantastic High School and Club Swimming programs taking State titles Freshman and Sophomore years (High School) and achieving high point trophy for Club swimming as a 14-year-old.  I learned the most during the months that I had to spend away from the pool recovering. I learned the value of dedication, teamwork, self-sacrifice and perseverance.  I am seeking a stellar competitive athletic program with a solid academic foundation.  I know that I have the talent and character to compete at the college level swimming. My skills and loyalty will make an immediate impact on your team!
