For as long as I can remember I have loved swimming. Always jumping into any pool that I could find. As I got older and started swimming competitively my interests and love for the pool never ceased, in fact it grew. I found that I needed to push myself and work harder to accomplish my set goals. But I couldn’t do this by myself. Going to practice everyday and seeing my friends and coaches determination, support, and friendship only heightened my sense of drive. I believe that I am a very important member of my team, not only for competitions but also from the social aspect. My ability to uplift spirits is important to have when encouraging our team to work together. I am extremely committed to swimming and to my improvement.
From an academic standpoint, I strive to balance athletics and schoolwork. I take elevated classes and participate in many clubs and extracurricular activities. I received honors with distinction my freshman year and plan to continue my streak.
In college I hope to continue to excel both academically and in swimming. Also, I will strive to contribute to a positive campus environment out of the classroom and pool just as I have in highschool
