Mitchell Bunic '15 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Mitchell Bunic and I am a Junior from Springville Griffith Institute in NY.  I have joined this recruiting site in hope that colleges will see my profile and find me both academically and physically perfect for their college.  My major goal is to be accepted into a division one college and pursue my dreams of being either a DEC Officer or going into Forestry.  I've done my very best to meet the requirements of such colleges by excelling in the classroom as well as in all the sports I participate in.  I also am a musician.  I have been playing the violin since the fourth grade and also sing with the chorus.  Currently my GPA at Springville is a 3.7 and I am in two AP courses.  In preparation for going into Environmental study, I applied and got accepted into an AP Evironmental course at my school.  I have also been accepted into Pre-Calculus which is an AP class as well.  I do my best in all of my classes.  I currently have a 94 average so far this year.  I plan to maintain this throughout the last years of my high school career.  As you can see I am very good in the classroom but I also excel in sports.  I have been in a variety of sports since middle school including swimming, cross-country, track and field, and soccer.  My main sport is swimming which I have been varsity in since 7th grade.  I have been MVP of my team every year since 8th grade and plan to continue that streak this year and the next.  I have achieved great times in all of my swims but the 100 breast at 1:03.64, and the 500 at 5:10.88 are my most impressive.  The 500 time I swam as a freshman at our division championships.  I took 1st place of all 40 athletes  swimming it.  The 100 breast I swam at the Niagara LSC Championships in Webster NY and took 3rd in my heat and 13th of 50 overall.  I also hold my school's record in the 100 breast as well as being a part of two relay records for our team.  Swimming is my favorite sport not only because I have achieved so much in it but also because I have made many friends and built great relationships with my team.  I am a great team supporter and love to help the new members learn their strokes and see them succeed.  This goes for all my sports and also in the school.  Outside of school I continue my athletic career by participating in many offseason practice and personal triathalons. In the triathalons I  have taken 1st in my age group in all that I  have participated in as well as coming in the top 18 of over 100 every time.  As far as my preferred study of environmental, I am an avid outdoorsman and am very knowledgeable about the environment.  I am excited to see where the study will take me.  I hope that the coaches that see this will be interested and see me as a possible part of their school. I hope my profile is up to the qualifications of a division 1 school and I will continue to do my best in both academics and athletics.
