Personal Statement
My goals and aspirations are to achieve a strong college education to prepare me for the future. I have many interests but enjoy history, sociology, psychology and anthropology. I plan on study business and eventually, I would like to obtain a law degree. I am the youngest of three siblings and became interested in swim following in my sister's footsteps. I have been part of a swim team since I was 8 years old and have made the best friends through my sport.
I have the ability to balance my life easily between school, social and athletic obligations. I have been successful my junior year while taking a full course load with 3 AP classes, working part time in a real estate office, tutoring students, swimming on my varsity high school team, and engaging in Model UN.
I am a hard worker, loving the gym and physical exercise, I put in time training outside of normal team required weight lifting and swim practice. I stay calm at big meets and am able to rally my relays and teammates. I have consistently dropped time year after year from my freshman year to my junior year and feel I have room to still improve. I believe my starts and pull outs are my weakest part of my swim, and if these improve, I will be able to drop significant time.
I have a strong character and have been described by my teachers as a leader. I have learned how to manage my own time between work, school, swim and fun; I have found my parents giving me complete autonomy this year because they have seen me be successful in all areas of my life and make great decisions. I believe all of these traits will allow me to be an asset to any team and college where independence, reliability and time management are critical.
