Nathan Lethbridge '14 Recruiting Profile

I started competitive swimming in 2010 after being shocked by my performance during regular high school swimming. Having never swam before in any competition or any formal training I broke 6 high school records and placed 6th overall at the Provincial Championship. After one season of high school swimming I decided to take my abilities to a new level and join the competitive swim team in London, Ontario. It was here where I found that being in the water was natural for me. I began a rigorous training schedule with my club swimming and training over 16 hours a week. My times began to decrease and quickly began to make my way into the top 50 in Canada my first year. This year which is my second, I have made it to the top 10 in Canada for my age group. My goal is to attend a college that offers me an excellent education and a superior training regiment where I can excel in my swimming, proudly representing my school and accomplishing my life long goals. My short term goal is to medal at an NCAA swimming championship whereas my long term goal is to make the 2016 Canadian Olympic Team. I want to be a mentor and a positive role model to the young swimmers and my peers and prove that if you want it bad enough, you can have it all.
