Personal Statement
My name is Robert "Shaun" Faulstick. I'm 6'1, 215 lbs. I consider myself to be a sprinter, however I compete in all the events pretty well. I have received the MVP award all four years for my high school swim team and have finished as high as 8th at PIAA District III championships in the 100 backstroke. I've been competitively swimming for 13 years and have worked hard since day one. In my 13 years I have swam for some of the most well known and top teams in our area. I have swam for Hershey Aquatic Club under the instruction of two great coaches, Greg and Jeff Fastrich, as well as Diplomat Swim Club under the instruction of Jim Yeingst. I feel that swimming for a variety of teams has given me many different qualities to add to a team dynamic. A side from my times, I can offer determination, hard work, commitment and energy. I am a team player always cheering on my team mates while they are in the water and providing as much energy as I can to get them up and going. I always show determination, hard work, and commitment whether it is in or out of the pool. I give my all not only in the pool but also in the classroom and always strive to be the best that I can be.
I have been a Pennsylvania boy my whole life and while I love this area, I would love the opportunity to branch out and see what other states have to offer as well. It does not matter to me whether the school I attend is a big or small school, as long as I am able to swim while still getting a good education.
The major I am most interested in pursuing is Communications, more specifically I am looking to become a Sports Broadcaster. I have been told that my vast knowledge of sports paired with my very distinct deep voice would make me great canidate for a sports broadcasting position.
My goals for swimming include making a positive impact on a team, with a positive attitude and performance. I also want to be a key team player of a highly competitive team as soon as possible. I feel that I can represent and have a positive impact on a team not only through my early years but through all four years of my education.
