I have been a competitive swimmer since I was eight years old. I swim because it challenges me, keeps me active and it’s fun.
Swimming has taught me how to be a hard worker, and not to give up when things get tough. When I was ten, I joined my YMCA club team but I couldn’t dive. It was challenging and I had to work really hard to be able to learn to do it. My coaches helped me and by the end of the season I could dive and I got the Rookie of the Year award.
As a freshman last year, I earned my first first high school varsity letter in swimming. I also qualified for and swam at the PIAA LL League Championships and swam 500 yard free, 200 yard IM and swam freestyle in the 200 IM relay. On my club team, I qualified for and swam at the PA YMCA Central District Championship and swam in 3 relays and 6 individual events. I think the 2022-23 swim season was my best yet even though I broke my foot and missed the first 6 weeks of practice. After my freshman year on varsity swimming, I decided I want to go to college and keep swimming!
In school, my favorite subjects are history and science. I have earned honor roll and am excited to take Honors History my sophomore year. Outside of school and swimming I enjoy playing the drums, watching football (go birds!) and I recently became a certified lifeguard.
