Personal Statement

I would like to pursue a degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or engineering, and mathematics. I came to Saint Raphael Academy to focus on academics- even though they did not have a swim team. Because I love to swim and wanted to represent my school, I -along with the help of the athletic director-started the swim team here. This year we acquired a coach, and four additional swimmers.

I have just finished my fifth season of club and will continue to compete on this level until graduating in 2020. In addition to attending team practices/conditioning, I regularly do dryland training which has greatly improved my stroke technique and times, in a short amount of time! I am very dedicated in both the pool and classroom, and will continue working hard to improve in both. As a student athlete, I think I would be a great addition to your program as I find success in balancing the two!

Working as a lifeguard at local YMCA 40 hours/week summer 2018 & 2019, continued working 8+ hours/week during school year. Submitted short story to The New Yorker for publication summer 2018. Donates blood. Project manager for arranging for and raising money to put Stop the Bleed kits in all classrooms in his high school. Editor on school paper.
