My first time competing in a meet was three years ago for a neighborhood swim league. I immediately fell in love with the sport and realized that I had potential to be a great swimmer. Although I was at a disadvantage because I started swimming so late, I knew that I would have to be determined and just work harder than everyone else. I have spent the past few years working diligently and training to excel, winning the high school Varsity MVP award as well as the All State award, Palmetto State High Points Award, the Butt Buster and the Most Improved award through club swimming. I am fortunate to be on a USA swimming club team that is helping me reach my goals and develop my potential. While training six days a week and being extremely disciplined, I am continuously improving in the water. I also know the importance of being well rounded and pursuing academic excellence. My sport has taught me to push harder and strive for success both in the water and classroom.
