Personal Statement

I have always been interested in a variety of sports and activities.  Until recently, I focused most of my time on playing competitive soccer, and only swam one or two times per week.  I came to realize that I enjoyed swimming more than soccer and decided to give up soccer and spend my athletic time swimming.

I really like swimming because there is a team aspect, but it is also very individual.  I like that you don't have to rely on anyone but yourself and your results are determined by how hard you work.  I'm very committed to swim in college and my collegiate goals are to find the right college that will benefit me academically and athletically.  As a have spent increasing amount of time in the pool I have understood the importance of time management.  I have a very challenging academic schedule with honors classes and an AP class as a ninth grader.  Even with this schedule and swimming every day I still manage to receive good grades and my swimming times have been steadily improving.

I am very work driven and will always give my best effort, whether it be academically or athletically.  Because I haven't been swimming for a very long time, and am still growing, I think I have a lot of potential to become a great swimmer while maintaining an excellent grades in college.

I am a two time 4A high school state champion in the 100 backstroke (2016, 2017), 2017 4A high school champion in the 200 IM, and 2017 Utah 100 and 200 backstroke champion at UT short course state. In March 2017, I medaled at the Four Corners Sectionals meet in both the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as took third place with my teammates in the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay. In May 2017,  I was awarded Best Athletic Performance at Olympus High school for my double state champion titles.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
