Personal Statement
I have only been swimming year-round for the last year and a half. I played football and baseball and only swam in the off season. Also, as a military child, we have not always been stationed where there is a team, pool, or adequate coaching. Since moving to Hampton, VA in July of 2012 and committing myself to swimming as my only sport, I have made great drops in my times. My 50 free dropped from a 24.57 SC to 23.05 SC; 100 free 54.96 SC to 49.16. SC; 200 free 2:01.78 to 1:49.53; 500 free 6:05.48 to 5:13.76; 100 Breast 1:14.46 to 1:03.35; 200 IM 2:26.95 to 2:05.12.
I am highly motivated to improving my swimming and am dedicated in everything I do. I maintain a 3.87 GPA and take several honors and AP Courses. I represent my USA team as a Virginia Swimming delegate and serve on the Technical Committee for Virginia Swimming. I am an Eagle Scout and have held various leadership positions within scouting. I feel I am a well-rounded student athlete that easily easily able to adapt to new situations and people.
