- Potomac River Sharkfest
- "WATERS: A 15-year-old K.G. High student wins Potomac River Sharkfest" (Beals, Free Lance-Star) It was a good day. The sun shone brightly and the sky was devoid of clouds. The only problem was the river was swollen with water from recent rains and had a strong current. I had on a wet suit to keep myself buoyant and warm, but I was still cold. I set off and swam across the river, crossing the 1.8 miles in 45 minutes and 33 seconds. It was very exciting. My legs weren't functioning very well when I reached the other side so I sort of tumbled to get out of the water and unto the bank. Overall, it was a great experience, both morally and physically.

- I have been going to BIOCrossfit in King George since the summer of 2012. Since then, I have seen how it has impacted swimming and strength. I will continue to go until I graduate and perhaps even after then.
